The ministry plans and funds rural infrastructure projects, coordinates community development programmes, and oversees land rehabilitation and resettlement schemes. It also manages targeted development programmes for Orang Asli communities, rubber smallholders, and Bumiputera entrepreneurs, and directs the activities of geographically focused regional development authorities to address localised economic disparities.
